TROPISM is this weekend—the lineup is here! ✨
The Quarry invites you to a weekend of intimate live performances, workshops, collaborative art projects, film screenings, studio tours, and independent book and record fair.
Summer events season is kicking off with TROPISM, memorial day weekend. There will be free public hours both days (donations to support the event greatly welcomed ♥) from noon to 5 pm, where you can check out the independent publisher’s fair, featuring media producers from the PNW and further afield: books, prints, and records for you to peruse. During the book fair, also check out the open studios with some of the artists who work year-round at LAQ.
Lineup!
Current Artists-in-Residence, Tooth and Nail, a newborn collaboration by Emily Long and Alex Philcox present their first long-form performance this weekend at TROPISM.
Emily and Alex look to bring an obscure and abstract element into the flow of the event, holding emphasis on blending genres of dance and expression into a place past definition. Working with themes of death and rebirth, catharsis, love, sex, and grief, find Tooth and Nail writhing at the Tripping Hazard this Sunday evening.
We’ve artists coming for TROPISM from as far afield as Vienna, Amsterdam, and Mexico. Check out some of the super international (and super local) lineup (performers and exhibitors and the in-betweens): Bruce Hamilton, CrimethInc., Marc Bell, Chris Icasiano, G.T. Thomas, Arrington de Dionyso, PIRAMIDES, Indigo Spell by Sulai Lopez, Tooth and Nail, Robert Millis, Louise Crowley Library, Sun Professor, Sublime Frequencies, Alternative Library, Detritus Books, Neoglyphic Media, Transitory Tapes, Zine Hug, PM Press, and more ∴ Full details at www.tropism.xyz
