Selected Readings from March AIR's "Food Play" 3/28 + Announcements
A Quarry resident's new podcast, two upcoming work parties, and more!

Warm spring weather is here, if you ignore the torrents of rain…which still means loads of events around the corner! (Be prepared for two newsletters in April.) Before March is over, come on over this Friday to see our March Artist in Residence Urks showcasing selected readings from “Food Play”, then on Sunday, join us for a quick work party to rebuild the chicken pen. Another work party to follow in April. Many cool announcements as well, so that’s a section also worth a read.
Lots of events are free to attend, and we will mention if there are any costs to admittance. Please refrain from bringing your dogs, unless they are service animals.

A night showcasing works by LAQ Artist in Residence urks io. Selected readings of their in-progress, experimental, ensemble play— “Food Play” — followed by an episode of their collaborative public-access television show “Magic Night at the Trans Bar”.
Chicken Pen Work Party
March 30th | 10 am - 1 pm | Meet in front of greenhouse
There’s a whole story about a mink breaking into the chicken pen, killing off the ducks, and…yeah, but we’ll share the story with the next newsletter. The point is, the chicken pen has been in need of a major overhaul, which includes better predator protection. Join us for a work party, and the Mother of Chickens will gratefully serve attendees lunch afterwards.
Spring Garden Work Party
April 6th | 10 am - 4 pm | Meet in front of greenhouse
Come get yer boots muddy, stack rocks, and visit with the resident rock wall bb snakes! We will be creating new terrace gardens and expanding the veggie grow zone. Lunch provided!

These are personal and powerful stories about accountability, forgiveness, and healing from extraordinary violence. The preview is live. Fun Growing Tip

If you cut your leeks with scissors, leaving their roots in the ground, they will replenish and grow back. Shown in photo: Our leek gardens have been growing back their fresh green tops for 3 years!
